'Slabworks' started as a way to materialise the quick volatile hand sketches and, quite literally, set them in stone. Each slab, carved and polished by hand, bears traces of both control and surrender, between gravity, gesture, and time (or lack of it). The works evoke bodies in repose or tension, revealing the living memory embedded within the material’s surface. They are abstracted memories of first skin to skin contacts between parent and child.
